Cape Town - Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has provided the gossip columns with more ammunition after admitting that he cannot "provide any guarantee" regarding teammate Thomas Muller's future at the Bavarian giants.
The Evening Standard report that while he intends staying at Bayern Munich, Philipp Lahm has cast doubt on Thomas Muller's future at the Allianz Arena.
"It's not my decision," Lahm told reporters in Shanghai, where Bayern are preparing to face Inter Milan in a pre-season friendly.
"Things can happen very quickly in football. "I certainly can't provide any guarantee for Thomas Muller (staying)."
Reports in Germany have now claimed that the Red Devils have launched a record €100 million bid for Muller.
Muller's relationship with coach Pep Guardiola has been questioned in the media and the German star has completed 90 minutes just 29 times in the past two seasons.
Muller could become the second German at Old Trafford after former Bayern captain Bastian Schweinsteiger joined Manchester United this summer on a three-year deal.
