23:27 - Okay so that's it folks. This highly anticipated match ended in a disappointing stalemate but it's still very early days in the BPL so I'm sure there's still plenty more to come from both these sides this season. Keep your eyes on Sport24 for all the upcoming action. Cheers!

23:20 - It does seem United are making another move for Spurs ace Gareth Bale. When questioned about this Moyes said: 'At Manchester United we're always looking for the best players.' That's evidence enough, I'd say!

23:19 - Moyes post-match comments: 'Chelsea defended well - we played for the win and done everything we could.'

23:10 - Mourinho also added that Chelsea's interest in Rooney is now totally dependent on the player. If he wants to move, Chelsea will bid again.

23:05 - PICTURE:

Man to man: David Moyes seems to be encouraging Wayne Rooney, who played really well but failed to find the back of the net for Manchester United tonight.

23:02 - Post match comment from Mourinho: 'In the end we went for the point, which is always a good thing...'

22:58 - John Terry walks away with the Man of the Match award tonight. A good solid display from the central defender.

22:57 - TWEET:

Anti football in all its glory on display tonight - @mthombothi

22:52 - FULL-TIME score Manchester United 0 - 0 Chelsea.

22:50 - Van Persie takes the corner which finds Vidic, who flicks on to Rooney, but his scissor-kick effort is fluffed by Ivanovic, who clears and Atkinson blows his whistle to end this stalemate.

22:47 - Mikel has replaced Schurrle for Chelsea, who are on the ball now as three minutes of stoppage time gets added. A loose ball ends up safely with de Gea and United press now - it's lost to Chelsea though who look happy to run down the clock for a draw as they play for possession in their own half before pushing down the left-hand-side with Hazard. It's lost to United now, who win a corner.

22:45 - Great chance for Evra to bang one in, but his shot bothered the corner flag more than it did Cech. Poor effort there from the Frenchman!

22:43 - Four minutes left of the 90. Still no goals here. Is United leaving it late again? Or will it be a Blue Monday for the Red Devils?

22:42 - Some more comments from our readers:

Saut Stana: Am surprised with Moyes' performance incredible! What a strong team!

22:40 - Evra goes down after a knock and brings the match to a halt. The wing-back looks groggy but is back on his feet to continue the battle.

22:39 - TWEET:

Rooney outstanding. Best on the pitch. Oscar also going to be a big star. - @PeterLaduma

22:35 - End-to-end stuff now as Rooney is presented with a chance to shoot. He gets some good power behind the shot but Cech tips the piledriver around the post. In the mean time the old man Giggs has come on for Welbeck.

22:34 - Ivanovic crosses to Torres, but his header is weak. No trouble for de Gea.

22:31 - Chelsea have their first corner. Attacked by Cahill and recycled to Terry. The ball is cleared but ends up at Ramires' feet. The midfielder then goes on a charging run down the right flank and is tackled somewhat ominously by Rooney, who wins the ball back and clears to safety.

22:27 - Mourinho questions Atkinson with arms waving and a wry smile for a foul on Cole by Jones after the defender goes down on the edge of the area.

22:25 - 65 mins United substitution - Ashley Young on for Valencia.

22:22 - Some more comments from Facebook:

Lebogang Phologane: The special one is showing Rooney that we need a striker... he's luring Rooney.

Ungwugian Endurance: Man United is the best.

22:20 - The crowd erupts after the ball appears to hit Lampard's hand in the area. Not a chance though as it in fact hit his back. Good call from Atkinson.

22:17 - The first sub of the game on 59 mins - Torres for De Bruyne.

22:16 - TWEET:

If Chelsea score they will park the bus. Oh wait, they have parked already. @Craig_VW

22:12 - Evra and Welbeck threaten to find a way through but that man Terry is in the right place again to clear. Welbeck has had two good chances in the space of two minutes - he's sent both over the bar. Simply have to get those on target at this level.

22:09 - A few guys are also getting in on the debate via Sport24’s Facebook page:

Ekom Ette says that he thinks the home team will come through 2-1 winners.

Isaac Thabo is going for 3-1 win in favour of the Blues.

22:08 - Another pacey attack from United falls to nothing after Welbeck fails to play the ball back to Van Persie for a shot at goal.

22:06 - De Bruyne wins the ball inside the United half and Oscar runs at the centre of their defence, but he can't find a way through as Vidic stands strong.

22:02 - The second half is underway. Let's hope for some goals!

21:50 - Here are some more comments and predictions:

Robert Gabriel Tsvangirai: All those who are supporting Chelsea, please wake up and make the same noise tomorrow.

David Dzawara: Chelsea to teach Man Utd to night. I support Liverpool but today im behind the Blues.

John Davids: Rooney will kill the Blues.

Unus Basson: Man Utd....will most definitely take the win tonight.

Titai Johnathon: I think(United) 3 -2(Chelsea)

Emmanuel Ben: I rep Chelsea - the game between Chelsea and Man United wil be a game to watch, so Chelsea will win by 3 goals to 1. Up Chelsea and up Mourinho.

Gutta Nyamela: Blues all the way...

21:48 - It's half-time at Old Trafford. Still no score but looks like United have a slight edge based on both teams' performance in the first half.

21:45 - TWEET:

Both Chelsea and United's desire to not lose to one another here, outweighs their desire to beat one another. - @MarcLewisZA

21:42 - 42 mins played and still no goals in this cagey affair at Old Trafford. Can they score before half-time?

21:39 - United with another attack. Playing the ball well across the Chelsea defence before going out wide to Evra whose ball in eventually falls to Jones. The defender whips in a low ball into the box which finds Cleverley on the edge of the area - his shot for the top corner goes just over though.

21:36 - TWEET:

Moyes first signing looks like Martin Atkinson. RVP elbows de bruyne and de bruyne gets booked!!! - (Alec Stewart @StewieCricket)

21:35 - The first booking goes to the Blues' De Bruyne after bringing down Van Persie on the touchline.

21:29 - PICTURE

All's fair... Moyes and Mourinho showing each other some respect before kickoff. (@premierleague via Twitter)

21:26 - Another corner for United after an attack from the right this time. The ball in from the left is cleared to safety by Oscar.

21:25 - United with some good movement and passing in their build-up play. The ball in from Evra finds Van Persie, but his header goes over.

21:23 - A decent effort from Van Persie from an awkward angle goes just wide.

21:22 - Twenty-two mins played here and it remains 0-0. Oscar's 10th-min effort has been the only shot on target so far. Right now it looks to be anyone's game.

21:20 - Man United attack after Valencia wins the ball from Hazard, but Terry seems to be on-song tonight and intervenes once more.

21:14 - Hazard now attacks from the left but his ball in is overhit and goes way past all the Blues players in the box. Could have done better there...

21:12 - First corner of the match goes to United after an attack from Van Persie is thwarted by Ivanovic. The corner is taken by the Dutchman, but cleared to safety by Terry.

21:10 - A lousy clearance from Ferdinand gifts Oscar with a shot on goal, but it's straight at de Gea, who holds onto the ball safely.

21:08 - The Old Trafford crowd chanting, 'Sit down Mourinho!' While it appears Blues fans are singing: 'See you next week Wayne Rooney!' Funny stuff!

21:05 - Rooney gets a little bit of a breakthrough just in front of the Chelsea defence but it's well defended by Cahill for the visitors.

21:03 - Referee Martin Atkinson is the man with the whistle for this clash. Let's hope he can handle the immense pressure refereeing a match of this stature.

21:01 - We're underway here. Chelsea holding on to some early possession.

21:00 - The players have done the customary shaking of hands - Rio shakes Terry's hand - first time they have started a game opposite each other since that storm erupted involving his brother and the Chelsea stalwart.

20:58 - Mourinho has picked an interesting side against the champs.. no Torres or Ba. No striker - defensive strategy maybe?

20:55 - The players are making their way onto the pitch, where they have been greeted to a roaring atmosphere. Moyes definitely getting a vote of confidence from the home fans as he waves to the crowd.

20:53 - Rooney is in the starting line-up for the champions tonight, so we're all set for a humdinger of a match as Mourinho will obviously want to make use of this match to get a good result and stamp his authority on the BPL once more. Exciting stuff! Let's see how this one plays out...

20:43 - Good evening footy lovers! It's a big one tonight at Old Trafford, where all eyes will no doubt be on Red Devils striker Wayne Rooney, who has been making headlines since requesting a transfer from last season's EPL champions. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has since has claimed he only moved to sign Wayne Rooney because Man United manager David Moyes suggested the striker was no longer his first choice. Mourinho mind-games at its best and with the Rooney transfer still unresolved, who could blame the man. Get the full story here: Moyes blamed for Rooney saga
