Khumalo may earn his Spurs

Johannesburg - Bafana Bafana star Bongani Khumalo may be handed his Tottenham Hotspur debut at Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.

Khumalo moved to London from SuperSport United at the start of January for a fee believed to be in the region of £1.5m.

The 24-year-old defender has been limited to behind-the-scenes friendlies as manager Harry Redknapp looks to help him settle into his new surroundings.

However, with Spurs skipper Michael Dawson now suspended due to his dismissal against Fulham on Sunday and Younes Kaboul, Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate all injured, Khumalo may be handed his first taste of Premier League action by being named in the matchday eighteen for Wednesday's encounter.

William Gallas is also said to be carrying a slight injury, so Khumalo may be thrown straight into the deep end alongside Cameroon international Sebastien Bassong at Ewood Park.

Spurs are fighting to keep their UEFA Champions League status for next season and are still involved in this campaign's competition, with a two-legged showdown with AC Milan on the horizon - something Khumalo may be involved in should Spurs' injury woes persist

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
