Johannesburg - South Africa’s Bongani Khumalo got his first taste of competitive football for his new English Premiership club on Tuesday January 11, in a club friendly against Crystal Palace at Spurs Lodge.

The Spurs XI came out on top as they beat their visitors 4-2, with Khumalo playing the full 90 minutes.
Four of the six goals came in the opening 20 minutes, with Khumalo’s team mate Cameron Lancaster getting the opening two goals and Ryan Mason netting the third and fourth goal for Spurs.
The friendly would have been a good introduction of the English football style for the 23-year-old South African international and being on the winning end will undoubtedly give his confidence a boost.
