Kagawa 'relieved' at United exit

Cape Town - Shinji Kagawa is "relieved" to be back in Germany with Borussia Dortmund according to teammate Sebastian Kehl.

According to Dortmund's Sebastian Kehl, Japanese star Shinji Kagawa is relieved to be back in Germany reports the Manchester Evening News.

Kagawa was consistantly linked with a move away from Old Trafford during the summer before finally making the switch back to Dortmund during the last week of the transfer window. Kehl believes it was Louis van Gaal's lack of action that pushed Kagawa towards the exit.

Van Gaal was repeatedly asked about the future of several fringe players at United and continuously refused to provide clear answers. Kehl believes this forced Kagawa's hand.

“You could see that it was a huge relief for Shinji Kagawa." said Kehl.

“It was not an easy situation for him at Manchester in the past few weeks. And then there were some comments from his coach that prompted him to return to Dortmund.

“He gets a lot of faith here. Everything that he’s been missing in the past few months, he’ll get back here again."
