Mass exodus continues at City

Manchester - Former Italy international Attilio Lombardo led an exodus of Italian backroom staff from Manchester City, the club confirmed on Thursday.

Following the sacking of manager Roberto Mancini earlier this week and the subsequent departure of first-team coach David Platt, five more members of Mancini's backroom staff have now gone.

Reserve team boss Lombardo has been joined by defensive specialist Angelo Gregucci, Ivan Carminati, Fausto Salsano and Massimo Battara in leaving the 2012 league champions.

"We thank them for their contribution to Manchester City since their arrival and wish them well with their future careers," said a club statement.
