Cape Town - Stoke City have confirmed that German defender Robert Huth joined English Premiership rivals Leicester City on loan until the end of the season.
The club confirmed the news on their official website on Monday:
The former German international defender has agreed the move to the Foxes in a bid for regular first-team football having struggled for regular action at the Britannia Stadium following his long-term injury.
The 30-year old spent over 12-months on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury against Sunderland in November 2013.
Huth has made a total of 187 appearances for the Potters having joined the Club from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2009.
His last start for the Potters came against Wrexham in the FA Cup last month, whilst his one and only top-flight appearance this term came as a late substitute in the 3-2 triumph over Arsenal in December.
He will be unavailable to make his debut for his new club against Crystal Palace on Saturday as he completes a two-match suspension, meaning his first appearance for Nigel Pearson’s side could come against the team he last faced in league action, Arsenal, a week tomorrow.
