Hummels wanted as the next Gaalatico

Cape Town - Mats Hummels has spoken out on his potential departure from Dortmund, sparking fresh interest from Manchester United.

The Expressreport that Manchester United have set their sights on German World Cup winning defender Mats Hummels.

"If I wanted to leave the club one day I would want it to be 100 per cent open and fair for everyone." said Hummels, ruling out the possibility that he has a release clause in his contract at Dortmund.

"I wouldn't like to say: "Oh, by the way, thank you for the last year, it was nice but I'm off.' I would like the club to have time to adjust to it."

Hummels words have sparked speculation that Louis van Gaal may do next summer what he failed to do this summer, and lure Mats Hummels to Old Trafford.

Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for Hummels even after Jurgen Klopp refused to entertain any offers for his star defender.

The 25-year-old centre back is into his seventh season with the Bundesliga giants.
