Hummels still on United radar

Cape Town - Manchester United are not giving up on trying to bring Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels to Old Trafford.

The Daily Star report that Manchester United are still interested in German defender Mats Hummels .

The British newspaper claims that Dortmund are willing to part with Hummels should United be willing to match their £47 million valuation of the player.

Despite Manchester United's drop in revenue, the club did not rule out January moves for long-term targets.

"We are not looking to enter the market for short-term fixes.

"However we have targets that we are looking at for next summer. Should any of them become available in January - which obviously is rare – we will consider acting. But in terms of expectations-setting we all need to recognise that is a low probability."

Hummels has been on the Manchester United wishlist since starring for German in their successful 2014 Soccer World Cup campaign.
