London - Hull City announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to pay Blackpool up to 2.3 million ($3.5 million, three million euros) in a compensation agreement over the signing of winger Tom Ince.

Ince, 22, joined Hull last year after his contract with Blackpool expired, but due to his age, the Championship club were entitled to recoup a fee.

"A compensation package has been agreed with @BlackpoolFC for the signing of Tom Ince without the need of a tribunal," Hull announced on their Twitter page.

"@HullCity will pay up to 2.3m for the 22-year-old, who signed for the club on a two-year deal in the summer."

Ince, the son of former Manchester and England midfielder Paul Ince, began his career at Liverpool before joining Blackpool in 2011.
