Manchester - Wayne Bridge will be out of action for about a month after having a hernia operation, Manchester City confirmed on Wednesday.
The left-back aggravated a long-standing injury in the first half of Sunday's 1-1 draw away to Sunderland, and was forced off.
He had only returned in early February after a 13-game lay-off with a knee injury, and now looks likely to miss league matches against Fulham, Everton, Wigan Athletic, Burnley and Birmingham City before possibly making his comeback against Manchester United on April 17.
