Hecking: De Bruyne going nowhere

Cape Town - Wolfsburg manager Dieter Hecking is confident of keeping coveted midfielder Kevin De Bruyne at the Volkswagen Arena next season.

De Bruyne is among the most highly-rated young players in Europe and continues to be linked with a high-profile move to one of the continent's elite clubs in the off-season, following an excellent Bundesliga campaign.

Die Wolfe's boss' comments come just a day after the player's agent, Patrick De Koster, claimed he had made contact with Manchester City and that they would consider the youngster's future in the off-season.

Hecking, though, is confident De Bruyne will snub a move away from the club and believes the Volkswagen Arena is the right place for the former Chelsea man to continue his growth.

"Bayern can make an approach for De Bruyne if they want," Hecking told German publication Bild. "But Kevin has the peace he needs to mature and continue his development here at Wolfsburg.

"I think that he realises it will be good for him to play Champions League football with Wolfsburg and to show that he can also deliver the goods at this level."
