Cape Town - Barcelona winger Pedro is back on Arsenal's transfer radar after reports from Spain suggested Arsenal were interesting in signing the 27-year-old star.

Arsenal have reportedly "made initial contact with Pedro's representatives" with a view to a summer transfer, according to the Independent.

Pedro's name has consistently been linked with several top clubs from England and Spain after the Spanish attacking midfielder saw his placing in the starting lineup at Barcelona taken by Luis Suarez.

Barcelona managed to convince Pedro to extend his stay with the Catalan giants until the end of the 2018-19 season.

Pedro has helped Barcelona win 18 titles, including two Champions League crowns. He has scored 11 goals last season despite his reduced role in the team.

Pedro has won 51 caps for Spain.
