Gunners chase United target

Cape Town - Celtic's Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk is being linked with an interest from English Premiership rivals Arsenal.

The Daily Star report that Arsene Wenger is keen to swoop in on Manchester United target Virgil Van Dijk.

Both clubs are desperately seeking defensive cover after a series of injuries limited resources in both London and Manchester.

Arsene Wenger will reportedly offer Celtic £8 million for the 23-year-old defender.

Van Dijk was also linked with a move to Southampton in the summer transfer window, which has not unsettled the player according to Celtic manager Ronny Deila.

"I have no concerns about his commitment. I can honestly say I’m really happy about his situation and have no concerns." said Deila

"I can see his body language and he is happy. Now he is focused on getting good results with Celtic and getting better.
