Gun-toting Cole to face action

London - Chelsea will take "appropriate action" following a reported incident that claimed defender Ashley Cole accidentally shoot an intern with an air gun at the team's training ground.

The News of the World reported Sunday that the England international was playing around with a .22 air gun he had brought into the dressing room seven days ago and hadn't realised it was loaded.

The Sunday tabloid said sports sciences student Tom Cowan, who is on a one-year work placement at Chelsea, was hit in the side by a lead pellet at the training ground in the Surrey town of Cobham, south of London.

A Chelsea statement says "we have fully investigated the incident and we are taking appropriate action."

How dumb can one man be?

      Ask Cole :P

Well, he's dumb enough to play for Chelsea in the first place... that should say it all!

Good ol' Cashley, what a complete and utter waste of space.

I wonder who wrote this article, "incident that claimed defender Ashley Cole accidentally shoot an intern". Shouldn't it be "shot"? And anyone who knows anything, knows that a .22 is not an airgun but a rimfire rifle that uses real bullets, and can kill someone very easily. No wonder Chelsea is 5th on the log. With players like these (with no apparent brain capacity) they should actually be lower.

Wrong. You do get .22 air/pellet guns. Come now, surely you Google your facts before spouting them?

"And anyone who knows anything" ..... LMFAO!

WTF is a .22 airgun? Was it a .22 (not an airgun), or an airgun which only comes in .177 or .25 caliber, the latter so scarce i'm pretty sure it was .177.

@ Shistirrer: In fact .22 airguns do exist. You are correct about the smaller calibre being .177 but the larger calibre is definitely .22 and not .25. The most common make of .22 was a BSA Meteor with the facility for using a scope.

Umm, I beg to differ... you do get .22 air rifles

Pity he can't shoot goals like he can interns. Hope Cowan gets better soon and that he sues Cole for his stupity
