Groin surgery for Gerrard

Liverpool - Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard underwent a second operation in a month to cure a groin injury, the club confirmed on Saturday.

The 30-year-old had already been ruled out for the rest of the season but the extent of the injury was not revealed until Saturday.

Liverpool said the operation was a success and Gerrard will now begin a rehabilitation programme designed to get him ready to start training with the club in pre-season this summer.
