From tears to smiles for Suarez

Cape Town - Star Liverpool striker Luis Suarez left Selhurst Park in tears on Monday night after the Reds threw away a three goal lead, basically handing Manchester City the Premier League title.

The Uruguayan, along with captain Steven Gerrard, couldn’t hide their emotions at the final whistle, although Suarez did his best by covering his face in his shirt as he left the field.

But 24 hours later Suarez’s mood was a lot different as he was back to his smiling best after receiving three awards at Liverpool’s end of season prize giving, reports the Metro.

The striker won the Player of the Year, Supporters’ Player of the Year and Goal of the Season awards for his stunning strike against Norwich.

The prizes are well deserved for the Premier League's most outstanding player of the season and it is good to see him able to smile after such a recent disappointment.

Liverpool are fortunate to have such a world-class striker and his goals have been a massive factor in the Reds’ successful season that has seen them qualify for next season’s Champions League.
