Cape Town - Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is waiting for paperwork
to come through so that he can field new signing Andrej Kramaric
against Stoke on Saturday.
The Foxes bought the prolific Croatian striker from HNK Rijeka in the January transfer window to strengthen their attack as they hope to climb away from their current position at the bottom of the Premier League table.
But Leicester are still waiting on the work permit for the 23-year-old, whose four international caps (which include two goals) are not enough to grant him special access to the UK.
"We're still waiting for the official confirmation on Kramaric and hopefully that will come before Saturday," Football411 quotes Pearson as saying. "As to whether he plays, that depends on whether we get the official clearance, but he is in contention.
"I'm no legal beagle, I don't know the ins and outs, but we have the backing of the federation and hopefully we will get the official work permit."
Kramaric has been training with the Leicester squad after getting permission from the Football Association on Monday, and Pearson is now hoping he gets the all-clear to deploy Krmaric's goal-scoring touch against the Potters.
"He is a player we have been looking at for more than two years, it is not as if it is something that has just come out of the blue," Pearson said. "Hopefully, when available, he will have a big impact for us."
