According to the BBC website, Ferdinand tweeted on Tuesday: @fellainiM welcome to Manchester United, good luck in internationals and come back healthy.

Belgium midfielder Fellaini joined Manchester United from Everton shortly before Monday's transfer deadline for £27.5m.

Belgium play Scotland in Glasgow in their 2014 Soccer World Cup qualifier on Friday.

Fellaini also took to Twitter to thank Everton and their supporters.

I just want to tell you: THANK YOU Everton and all the Evertonian fans for all these last years. @Everton
Fellaini was the one bright note on an otherwise bad day in the transfer market for the defending English Premiership champions.
