FA charge Moyes for ref rant

Liverpool - Everton manager David Moyes was charged with misconduct by the Football Association (FA) on Monday after he confronted referee Martin Atkinson following Saturday's 3-3 draw with Manchester United.

Moyes's assistant Steve Round has also been charged and the two men have until Thursday to respond to the charge.

Under the FA's new fast-track procedure, if they accept the charge they will have to pay a standard 8 000 pounds fine.

However, if either denies the charge, a hearing will be held within 10 days.

"Moyes and Round have until Thursday, September 16, to respond to the charges," said the FA in a statement.

Everton came from 3-1 down to equalise in stoppage time at Goodison Park but Moyes was unhappy that the referee did not allow for more time to be played.

"That was a terrible decision in my book," said Moyes.

"The two (Everton) goals were scored after 90 minutes and they'd put up three minutes of extra time.

"He didn't get his time right because there was more time to add on for the goals and he played three minutes 30 seconds."
