Cape Town - Roberto Martinez is considering pursuing a move for Manchester United's Tom Cleverley as Everton seek reinforcements ahead of the new English Premiership season.
The Daily Mail reports that Everton are ready to make a £8 million move for Tom Cleverley should the player fail to make the standard at Old Trafford.
After some indifferent performances on Manchester United's tour of the US, Roberto Martinez is monitoring the situation of the 24-year-old midfielder.
Martinez coached Cleverley whilst the pair were at Wigan Atheletic and the manager believes that he can get the best out of the under-performing player.
After signing Romelu Lukaku, Gareth Barry, Mo Besic and Brenden Galloway in the transfer window, Everton still want to add two more players to their 2014/15 squad.
Everton travel to Leicester City on the opening day of the new English Premiership season.
