Cape Town - With speculation regarding Wayne Rooney's move from Manchester United to Chelsea still flourishing, Sky Sports news reported on Tuesday that another big name striker could be heading to Stamford Bridge - Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o.
It is no secret that the Blues' newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho is desperate to bring a new goal poacher to the London outfit before the end of the current transfer window at the end of August.
According to the website, the Anzhi Makhachkala forward is keen to re-unite with Mourinho, who he worked with at the Italian giants Inter Milan.
"He is one of the best coaches in the world - and we had a lot of success together at Inter Milan. I would like to have the chance to play under him again - because it is never boring when Jose is around.
"Of course Chelsea are a great team - and when we have all the offers on the table then I will discuss with my agent and see what my next step is," Eto’o said.
Eto'o, 32, was part of the Milan team that won the Champions League in 2010 under the mentorship of Mourinho.
The move might happen as speculated due to Eto’o’s current clubs' financial crisis which resulted in the club offloading several of their key players including the Indomitable Lions' all-time leading goalscorer.
