PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE SEASON

Sport24 journalist Wade Pretorius picked the Premier League Team of the Season - which has caused quite a stir for going with two strikers in this modern age of football.

Here are his reasons for picking Aguero and Kane...

Sergio Aguero - (Manchester City) - I find it amazing that so many people overlooked the Argentine's immense contribution this season. Aguero was the first name "penciled in" for this team after racing away with the golden boot award.

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) - Kane has had a brilliant season for Spurs and rightly takes his place alongside Sergio Aguero in this side. The young English striker's value sky-rocketed this term and many English fans will be hoping that the talented striker can continue his form in the national team's colours. (Kane was named the PFA Young Player of the Year this season)
