English Premiership Team of the Week 3:

1. Petr Cech (Arsenal) - Hard to leave out Jack Butland (Stoke City) but Cech was in sublime form. Made a mammoth 8 saves to keep his side on level terms with Liverpool.

2. Matteo Darmian (Manchester United) - Sagna (City), Clyne (Liverpool) and Bellerin (Arsenal) all overlooked this week as the no nonsense Italian defender retains his place in this team.

3. Aleksander Kolarov (Manchester City) - Scored from the tightest of angles - perhaps in frustration of missing out on a spot in last week's Sport24 Team of the Week?

4. Fabricio Coloccini (Newcastle United) - Newcastle's brave defence at Old Trafford was brilliantly organised by the Argentine centre-back.

5. Russell Martin (Norwich City- Wonderful performance from Martin as he edges out Scott Dann (Crystal Palace) and the in-form Vincent Kompany (City) for this spot.

6. James Morrison (West Brom) -  Missed a penalty but still makes the team on the back of a tremendous individual performance (he scored a brace) at the Hawthorns against Chelsea.

7. David Silva (Manchester City) - City have emerged as title favourites this season with the Spanish international surely the season's standout performer...

8. Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City) - The Algerian is in fine form and was on song against Spurs. He scored his fourth goal of the season to ensure Leicester remain unbeaten.

9. Pedro (Chelsea) - A goal and an assist inside his first 30 minutes in the Premier League as I "Vote for Pedro" this week!

10. Mame Birame Diouf (Stoke City) - Bit of a wildcard selection but Diouf has been superb this season. His goal gave the Potters the lead at Norwich.

11. Callum Wilson (Bournemouth) - Wilson wins his place after netting the league's first hat-trick of the season in a 7 goal thriller at West Ham.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
