EPL Team of the Week 21

Cape Town - Louis van Gaal was brought back down to earth on Sunday as countryman and foe, Ronald Koeman, oversaw his ever-improving Southampton side a 1-0 win at Old Trafford.

With Radamel Falcao dropped from the matchday squad and Angel Di Maria employed as a second striker, Manchester United failed to register a single shot on target.

Chelsea exacted revenge on Newcastle with Diego Costa and Oscar leading the Blues to victory, while Manchester City were held by Everton at Goodison Park.

Liverpool kicked off their top four charge with a 1-0 win over Sunderland despite Raheem Sterling's absence. The young English international was given time off after a hectic 18 month schedule which has seen the attacking player go from the youth ranks to an England international.

Alan Pardew's return inspired Crystal Palace to a home win over Spurs while a sensational Alexis Sanchez steered Arsenal to a comfortable 3-0 win over Stoke City.
