EPL Team of the Week 12

Cape Town - After the weekend's English Premiership action, Sport24's Wade Pretorius chooses the EPL Team of the Week.

Liverpool and Arsenal were this week's big losers as both failed to win and stay within reach of runaway leaders Chelsea.

A Liverpool striker finally managed to find the back of the net but another woeful performance against Crystal Palace leaves manager Brendan Rodgers scrambling to resurrect the Reds season. Dwight Gayle, Joe Ledley and Mile Jedinak all beat Liverpool's under-pressure goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to hand the Eagles a 3-1 home win.

Despite dominating Manchester United at home, Arsenal failed to capitalise on a very good display as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat.

Chelsea swept aside West Bromwich Albion with goals from Diego Costa and Eden Hazard. Yaya Toure rescued Manchester City as they had to come from behind to beat Swansea City 2-1 at home.

EPL Team of the Week 12:

1. David De Gea (Manchester United)

2. Antonio Valencia (Manchester United)

3. Nathaniel Clyne (Southampton)

4. Scott Dann (Crystal Palace)

5. Gary Cahill (Chelsea)

7. Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

8. Yaya Toure (Manchester City)
