EPL Team of Week 4

Cape Town - After the weekend's English Premiership action, Sport24's soccer expert Wade Pretorius chooses his EPL Team of the Week.

Another intriguing week of English Premiership action has drawn to a close following Hull City and West Ham's entertaining draw on Monday evening. Chelsea continue to stamp their authority on the league while Manchester City were bailed out by a late Martin Demichelis header to rescue a draw at Arsenal.

At this rate, the English Premiership could be decided by January as Jose Mourinho's men look unbeatable. There was some relief in the red half of Manchester as Angel Di Maria inspired the Red Devils to their first win of the campaign.

This week's team is packed by players, mainly in defence, from the lesser English clubs with Crystal Palace's Julian Speroni earning him a spot in between the sticks after a fine penalty save, while Paul Konchesky gets an unlikely call up to feature in Week Four's team.

Enner Valencia is probably the most unlucky player this week after his heroics for West Ham but Graziano Pelle's performance in the rout of Newcastle was too impressive to see him missing out.

Here is the EPL Team of the Week:

1. Julian Speroni (Crystal Palace)

2. Rafael (Manchester United)

3. Paul Konchesky  (Leicester City)

4. Jose Fonte (Southampton)

5. Philippe Senderos (Aston Villa)

6. Daley Blind (Manchester United)

7. Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

8. Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea)

9. Angel Di Maria (Manchester United)

10. Diego Costa (Chelsea)

11. Graziano Pelle (Southampton)

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
