Cape Town - With Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale on the verge of joining the Spanish giants Real Madrid in a deal worth £86m, it looks likely that Madrid's Angel Di Maria will join Arsenal.
According to the Kick-Off website, the Gunners intend to capitalise on Bale’s imminent move to the Santiago Bernabeu by recruiting the 25-year-old Di Maria.
The former Benfica man’s position at Madrid has been expected to be under threat after the Los Blancos club commenced their bid to lure the Wales' Bale to the Bernabeu.
The Gunners are reportedly determined to pay €30m for Di Maria as they want to revive their squad for the current season.
Arsenal failed to sign pretty much all of their big-name targets during the off-season, including Di Maria’s team-mate and fellow Argentinean, Gonzalo Higuain, who ended up signing for the Serie A side Napoli.
Di Maria made his debut for Madrid against Real Mallorca in August 2010 after joining them on a deal worth €25m.
