City's Kompany passed fit

Manchester - Manchester City will have captain Vincent Kompany available as they look to regain the lead in the English Premier League when they visit Wigan on Wednesday.

The Belgium defender played the full 90 minutes in the scoreless draw against Chelsea on Sunday despite picking up a knee injury in the 1-1 Champions League draw with Real Madrid last week, and had been expected to be rested for the trip to Wigan.

City first-team coach David Platt said on Tuesday that Kompany had not suffered any further reaction and was fit to play.

City are one point behind Manchester United, who play West Ham on Wendesday.
