Cape Town - Manchester City have made a second bid worth £47 million for Wolfsburg's star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.
The Guardian report that City's offer is an initial £40 million plus around £7 million of add-ons for the 24-year-old Belgian midfielder.
Manchester City's initial offer of £35 million was rejected by Wolfsburg but the club have hinted that the player's head may have been turned.
“He’s got to listen to the offers." said Klaus Allofs, the Wolfsburg sporting director.
I can’t expect from him that he doesn’t even want to entertain them. If he was only contracted to us until 2017, then yes, it would be different. But let’s be honest about it – it’s highly unlikely that he’ll stay with us right up until 2019.”
Should De Bruyne seal a move to Manchester City, the 2013/14 league champions total spend would rise to £117 million in the current window.
