City look at Pogba alternatives

Cape Town - Manchester City are reportedly interested in the signing of Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik.

The Sun reports that Marek Hamsik is an alternative signing to Paul Pogba for Manchester City.

The 27-year-old Slovakian midfielder has been on the radar for Manchester City since Roberto Martinez' time in charge of the Citizens and could be a summer target for Manuel Pellegrini.

City are exploring the possibility of making a £20 million bid for the Napoli star.

A deal for Hamsik may indicate that City have given up hope of bringing Juventus ace Paul Pogba back to the Premier League.

Hamsik joined Napoli in 2007 from Brescia in a deal worth €5.5 million.
