Chelsea want Barca youngster

Cape Town - Chelsea and Barcelona are going head to head over the race to secure a deal an 11-year-old soccer player. 

Xavier Simons is wanted by England giants Chelsea according to the Express.

The Belgian player, not yet teenager, is the centre of a battle between Barcelona and Chelsea.

Simons is being touted as the next big star after spending time with Barcelona's academy but Chelsea are looking to poach the player.

Reports suggest the English club have offered a deal to the boy's parents to try tempt them into a move to London.

Barca are confident of keeping hold of Simons and are attempting to convince his parents of staying at the Catalan club.
