London - Chelsea have beaten off rivals Manchester United to land highly rated Burkina Faso prospect Bertrand Traore.

According to The Sun website, the midfielder, who is only 14, shone at the Under-17 World Cup last year where he became the youngest player to appear in the finals.

Burkina Faso sports minister Jean-Pierre Palm confirmed the teenager has agreed a deal to move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea, who lost the Community Shield last weekend 3-1 to United, open their 2010/11 English Premiership campaign at home against WBA on Saturday.
