Chelsea defender joins Villa

London - Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says defender Ryan Bertrand will join Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old Bertrand wants to play more regularly after making only one start for Chelsea in the Premier League this season.

Mourinho says "Ryan is to go on loan for the rest of the season. We felt and he agrees totally that he needs to play."

Aston Villa will be the sixth club Bertrand has joined on loan during seven seasons at Chelsea.
