Cape Town - Chelsea have seemingly lost their bid to persuade long-serving goalkeeper Petr Cech to stay at Stamford Bridge.
The Independent report that Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has agreed personal terms with Arsenal.
Cech has grown frustrated playing backup to Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich "is willing to let Cech leave for rivals Arsenal as a goodwill gesture following his 11 years of loyal service".
Should Cech depart, Chelsea are expected to lose goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon who is expected to follow Cech to his new club.
Lollichon also hinted that Cech's preference was a move to the Gunners.
"The advantage is that Arsenal is a top club, with a philosophy that pleases him and that is at London. It is a base for consideration." said Lollichon.
Arsenal need to reach an agreement with Chelsea over Cech's fee in order to complete the move.
