Cape Town - Ex-Newcastle star, Andy Carroll, could make a sensational return to St James’ Park after Alan Pardew latest comments.
The Daily Mail report that Alan Pardew hopes Andy Carroll makes a return to Newcastle.
The 25-year-old striker left the Magpies for Liverpool in a £35million deal but Pardew doesn't believe his former star made the right move.
"I think the Liverpool thing, for me, was a strange one,"said Pardew before adding "Big Andy's style was against the way they play."
Carroll then joined West Ham but with persistent injuries limiting his impact, the tall striker is being linked with a return to his old stomping ground.
"I think he would (want to come back one day), and I hope he does come back to his hometown," said Pardew, suggesting that a deal could be in the pipeline.
"He has got that love here. I really enjoyed working with Andy.
"I think he's a terrific player.
"I know we get linked with him every two weeks, which is always probably going to happen whether it's me or another manager."
Carroll has worked his way back to full fitness after injuring himself in pre-season.
For now, Pardew must prepare to face Carroll and West Ham United when he takes his side to the Boleyn Ground on Saturday. The match kicks off at 17:00.
