London - Wayne Bridge refused to shake hands with former Chelsea and England team-mate John Terry ahead of Chelsea's Premier League clash with Manchester City on Saturday.
Bridge this week ruled himself out of contention for England's World Cup squad after deciding he couldn't stand to be around Terry, who is alleged to have had an affair with the City defender's former girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel.
The pair came face to face, for the first time since news of the scandal broke, before kick-off at Stamford Bridge and Bridge snubbed Terry's offer of a handshake during the traditional pre-match greeting between the teams.
Terry, who was stripped of the England captaincy as a result of the affair, extended his hand to Bridge, but the ex-Chelsea player looked away and walked straight past his former friend.
Bridge went on to shake hands with the rest of Chelsea's players, but he received a hostile reception of his own when the match got under way.
With England coach Fabio Capello watching from the stands, the 29-year-old was loudly jeered throughout the first half by Chelsea fans, who showed their support for Terry by wearing 'Team Terry' t-shirts and chanting his name.
Capello still hopes to persuade Bridge to reverse his England withdrawal before the World Cup as he looks for a replacement for injured first-choice left-back Ashley Cole. But judging by Bridge's actions here, there is little chance of a change of heart.
