Boycott has a dig at United

Cape Town - Former England test cricketer Geoffrey Boycott believes Manchester United defenders are "overpaid for what they do".

Following Manchester United's shocking defensive display against Southampton, Geoffrey Boycott made his feelings known about the terrible work done by those entrusted with protecting David De Gea and the Manchester United goal.

Recognised as a batsmen who survived at the crease using intense concentration, solid defence and attention to detail - the former England cricket great's qualities could be well utilised by those in the red of Manchester United.

Boycott aired his views on social media site, Twitter:
