Cape Town - Chelsea, who are looking for a temporary home while Stamford Bridge undergoes expansion, could play a season at Twickenham.
According to the Mirror, Chelsea are expected to expand their current stadium capacity from 41, 800 into a 60, 000-seater, but need a substitute stadium to play at while the redevelopment takes place.
The Rugby Football Union has confirmed the enquiry made by the Blues, telling the news provider that "[they] are regularly contacted by a variety of organisations, within and outside sport, on a wide-range of opportunities concerning the use of what [they] believe is a world-class stadium.
"We have had an enquiry from Chelsea FC but have not had any discussions of any substance".
If Chelsea are to make the move, however, they would have to wait until at least 2016/2017 due to Twickenham's role in hosting the Rugby World Cup next season.
