London - Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is confident he enjoys the full support of owner Roman Abramovich following a difficult fortnight heading into Saturday's clash with Blackburn.
There is a degree of pressure on Villas-Boas to get a result at Ewood Park following the intense scrutiny on the club in the fall-out of their defeat against QPR last month.
John Terry has been at the centre of police and Football Association investigations over allegations of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand at Loftus Road.
And that result was followed by a 5-3 loss at home to Arsenal and a surprise draw against Belgian side Genk in the Champions League.
Traumatic periods have led to previous Chelsea managers eventually getting sacked, but Villas-Boas insists Abramovich is currently satisfied with progress.
"At the moment, he (Abramovich) is good," said Villas-Boas. "We don't avoid our responsibilities for winning titles.
"We will defend this philosophy to the death, but what is expected from us as a top club is to win titles."
Villas-Boas needs a response from his players in his first tricky patch following his move from Portuguese champions Porto to succeed Carlo Ancelotti.
Against Blackburn he will be without Didier Drogba, who is injured, but he believes he has the quality in his squad to turn results around.
"When things don't go our way, we can't be happy with what's passing," he said. "This week that has passed and the results we have been getting doesn't hurt our confidence.
"There's a good spirit in the group. There's a negative momentum we are passing by. We want wins as soon as possible. We went past a bad period and bad momentum last year, and we want to avoid that again.
"The memory of that is bad enough to want us not to repeat it. But we're not questioning our quality or our talent."
The Portuguese coach has put an emphasis on attacking this season and insists he has "trust" in his system.
"Listen, I live with these players on a daily basis," he said.
"I'm fortunate enough to see what they can offer to me, and I make decisions on that. You don't see the commitment, how good they are.
"You see them in competitive and strenuous situations, and it's valid that people have their opinions. But we don't believe them.
"There is always room for improvement. There must be. We are not satisfied with the way we are conceding goals, but we are looking to score more goals than our opponents.
"Our defensive organisation is solid, is competent, and we have complete trust in it."
Morten Gamst Pedersen, meanwhile, believes Blackburn’s performances against the big guns this season has shown they can trouble Chelsea.
Rovers beat Arsenal 4-3 in September and pushed Tottenham all the way in a 2-1 defeat at Ewood Park last week.
They have won just three of the last 24 Premier League matches but have lost only once in their last four in all competitions and manager Steve Kean has faced sustained protests from supporters.
Norway international Pedersen said: "We should have more points on the table but we’ve played some good football and we’re back where we are.
"It’s different when you’re playing well and the fighting spirit is there. It will be an interesting game on Saturday.
"We've beaten Arsenal and Newcastle (in the League Cup) and had a good game against Tottenham, so Chelsea will know it will be a tough game.
"We've shown some guts and we want to do that again against Chelsea, show everyone we’re a good team and that we should be higher up the table."
Kean is still without defenders Scott Dann, Ryan Nelsen and Michel Salgado due to injury.
Having travelled to Belgium to watch Chelsea’s Champions League draw with Genk, he believes his team can test the Stamford Bridge club.
Kean said: "You've always got to be careful of a backlash. I went out to Belgium and Genk played well.
"We'll just be worrying about what we do and how we impose ourselves on Chelsea and they won’t look forward to going to Ewood."
