Blues, City want Koke

Cape Town - English giants Chelsea and Manchester City are going to slug it out in the battle to land Spanish star midfielder Koke.

The Express report that both Chelsea and Manchester City are willing to meet the buyout clause in Koke's Atletico Madrid contract.

Koke recently revealed that he snubbed an offer to join Barcelona (read that story here) but now a pair of English giants will go head to head to in a bid to land the 22-year-old star's signature.

Koke was an integral figure for Diego Simeone's side last season as he helped the side to the La Liga crown as well as a runner-up place in the Champions League.

Reports in Europe suggest both Jose Mourinho and Manuel Pellegrini have been given the green light to pursue the player who many believe will complete either side's already potent attack.
