Blind hails Di Maria impact

Cape Town - Daley Blind has likened new Manchester United team-mate Angel Di Maria to Arjen Robben and hailed the Argentine's impact so early in the season.

Di Maria joined the Red Devils for a British record fee of £57.9 million from Real Madrid on 26 August, while Blind arrived four days later from Ajax Amsterdam.

And Blind believes the 26-year-old has already proven why he will be a key player for United this season.

"He's amazing," the midfielder was quoted as saying on ESPN.

"He is an excellent player. He can score goals, make assists, he can keep the ball very well.

"I think I am very pleased we have him in our team. He is very important to us.

"We have to do it with everyone though, as a team, everyone that is in the selection we have to fight for each other."

Blind also compared Di Maria to Netherlands team-mate Robben, saying: "He is quite similar but they have their own capacities and do their own things a lot.

"You can maybe see it in that way."
