The Sun report that Danny Welbeck will spend the season away from Manchester United.

After failing to impress new boss Louis van Gaal, England international Danny Welbeck is wanted by a host of English Premiership clubs before the transfer window slams shut at 23:00 on Monday, September 1.

Any potential loan deal for the forward will not come cheap as United are demanding £5 million for the season in exchange for Welbeck's services.

Welbeck spent the 2010/11 season on loan with the Black Cats where he scored 6 goals in 28 appearances for the Wearside club.
