Benteke worth it - Lambert

Cape Town - Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is delighted that his former player Christian Benteke has gotten a move to Liverpool.

Sky Sports reports that former Villa manager believes Benteke is well worth his release fee of £32.5 million.

Benteke is set to join Liverpool and the Belgian will prove himself once again suggests his former manager.

Sacked by Aston Villa in February, Lambert says Benteke "will score all types of goals" and dismissed talk that Benteke only scores with his head.

Lambert also pointed to the Belgian star's impressive goal scoring ration, saying: ""He was third behind (Cristiano) Ronaldo and (Lionel) Messi in goalscoring ratio. I think he is one of the best No 9s I have seen in a long time."

Benteke joined Aston Villa from Genk for £7 million in August 2012.

The 24-year-old striker has scored 42 goals in 88 appearances in the Premier League.
