London - Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has ruled out press reports that he could be on his way out of Anfield to coach the national team of the United Arab Emirates.

The Spaniard has regulalry found himself fielding questions about his future following Liverpool's worst Premier league finish in 11 years.

He insists, however, that he wishes to remain at the club.

Benitez has four years left on a deal signed last season and providing he receives positive feedback from chairman Martin Broughton on the sale of the club and what finances he will have available this summer, Benitez stressed he intends to honour that contract.

"I was very surprised to read about this story (being offered the UAE coaching job) but it seems more and more as if they keep happening from somewhere," Benitez told the Liverpool Echo.

"I am very happy here in Liverpool. I have always been happy and I want to stay here for a long time - if it is possible."
