London - People familiar with the situation say David Beckham's son is having a trial with London club Chelsea.

Brooklyn Beckham was spotted with his father at a Chelsea academy game on Tuesday.

The people with knowledge of the situation confirmed details of the 13-year-old Brooklyn's trial on condition of anonymity because they are not authorised to discuss the teenager's movements.

The Daily Mail newspaper website first reported the news on Wednesday.

David Beckham, a former England captain, has moved back to London with his family after opting to leave the Los Angeles Galaxy last month.

Brooklyn still appears on the Galaxy website as being on the under-14 squad.

David Beckham, 37, is currently mulling offers from clubs around the world as he prepares to make the next step in his playing career.
