Battle on for Van Persie's son

Cape Town - Robin van Persie's son, Shaqueel, is currently training at Manchester City and is keen to follow in his father's footsteps by pursuing a career in football.

According to the Metro, both Manchester clubs are keen on signing the youngster, and now Arsenal have also shown interest.

Van Persie senior will have a tough decision to make between his former club, the Gunners, where he was developed after leaving Feyenoord, and current club United.

Arsenal have previously made two approaches to sign Shaqueel, but they were both turned down with the youngster said to not be ready to commit to any club.

Things have changed now, and the Manchester Evening News reports that a decision will be made in the coming days over his future.
