London - Sunderland winger Adam Johnson's bail has been extended by five weeks following his arrest on suspicion of sexual activity with an under-age girl, British police have revealed on Tuesday.
The England international had been due to attend a police station on Wednesday after being arrested two weeks ago, but a Durham police spokesman said the 27-year-old would now return on April 23 as inquiries continue.
The spokesman also said that a weapon discovered at Johnson's mansion did not require a firearms certificate and that he would not face police action over his possession of it.
