Bafana star to join Spurs

Johannesburg - The Siya crew can exclusively reveal that Bafana Bafana defender Bongani Khumalo will be making his move to England permanent.

SuperSport United and Tottenham Hotspur have come to an agreement that will see Khumalo join the London-based club from Matsatsantsa.

As previously reported on the Soccer-Laduma, Khumalo was undergoing trials at Spurs after having been invited by the club’s management, and the talented defender did not fail to impress.

The Siya crew’s sources close to Spurs confirmed the news saying that representatives from both parties are expected to sit around the table on Friday and discuss the finer details of the deal.

It is believed that SuperSport will not receive their reported asking price of between R10m to R15m due to the relationship between the two clubs.

Instead, the proposed deal is expected to be structured around an appearance basis. Interestingly, the 23-year-old will be loaned out to a English Championship club for his first season in England where he can get to grips with the English game.
