Atletico boss: Reus snubbed United

Cape Town - Manchester United failed in a big money bid to bring German international star Marco Reus during this transfer window.

Marco Reus rejected the chance to join Manchester United according to the Daily Mail.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo told the media that the Dortmund forward was never really anoption for his side but Manchester United tried and failed to land the star player in a big money offer.

"I don’t know where the Marco Reus rumour came from."

"It’s a player who, at this time, is impossible to us," he said.

"Look, he had an offer for a lot of money from Manchester United and he has not gone… we will not sign him with a lesser offer."

Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer is of the view that Reus will end up at Bayern, United or Real Madrid next season but Bayern's coach Pep Guardiola seemed to rule out any move for Reus.

"We already have eight strikers. I do not need new players. I am pleased with this squad," said Guardiola.
